Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev held talks with the Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Marat Imankulov in Tashkent. RIA Novosti reports, citing the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that the parties, in particular, paid attention to the U.S. plans to provoke tension in Central Asia.
«Actual problems of Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation in the field of safe use of information and communication technologies and in the field of biomedical safety were considered. The parties exchanged views on issues of regional security against the background of the aggravation of the international situation in the world. In particular, attention was paid to the situation in Central Asia, including the plans of the United States to provoke tension in this region,» the statement says.
Nikolai Patrushev arrived in Tashkent to attend the seventeenth annual meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) scheduled for Friday.
«An exchange of views on a number of regional problems took place. The Russian side expressed concern about the desire of Western countries, and primarily the United States, to create hotbeds of tension in the space of the Commonwealth of Independent States,» the statement says.
