IsDB, SFD to allocate money for water supply in 101 villages in Jalal-Abad

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) will finance projects to provide 101 villages in Jalal-Abad region, as well as Kara-Balta and Sulukta, with drinking water. Director of the Community Development and Investment Agency (ARIS) Mars Naspekov told.

According to him, within the framework of the meeting with the Arab Coordination Group, investors were presented with water supply projects for 175 villages of Jalal-Abad region. As a result, 101 villages and 2 cities were chosen for approval of financing.

In total, the project will cover 355,000 people. We have been implementing projects with the IsDB in Kyrgyzstan for a long time. We have completed 85 percent of what was previously agreed.

Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers with the Arab Coordination Group took place yesterday, August 3, in Cholpon-Ata city.

Project to improve rural water supply and sanitation was implemented in 25 villages of Jalal-Abad region from 2017 to 2022. It required $23 million. Of these, $15 million was a loan from the IsDB, $5 million was a loan from the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (IFSCD), and $3 million was allocated by the Cabinet of Ministers.
