The Bishkek Heating and Power Plant (HPP) will purchase 1,050 million tons of Kyrgyz coal for the upcoming heating season. Press service of Electric Stations OJSC reports.
Tender was announced at the end of last week. The winner will be announced tomorrow, August 2. Solid fuel will be supplied to the warehouse of the facility from August 2022 to March 31, 2023. In total, 3,685,500 billion soms are provided for the purchase of coal.
«There are over 110,000 tons of coal on the territory of the Bishkek HPP. Preparations for the autumn-winter period are going on as planned,» the company added.
In the last heating period, the demand of the capital’s HPP for coal was 1,650 million tons. About 1 million tons of fuel from this volume was coal from Kara-Keche. The rest of the fuel was imported from Kazakhstan.
In June, Energy Minister Doskul Bekmurzaev announced that Kyrgyzstan would completely abandon imported coal this year and Bishkek’s HPP would be supplied with coal from Kara-Keche.
