Ukraine introduces visa regime for Russian citizens

Ukraine has introduced a visa regime for Russian citizens. RIA Novosti reports.

According to the news agency, citizens can obtain Ukrainian visas in VFS Global visa centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don and Samara.

However, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine clarified that the visa does not guarantee Russians entry into the country, as the final decision is made by border guards.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow would decide on its response to the introduction of visas by Kyiv, taking into account its national interests.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the initiative to introduce a visa regime for Russian citizens starting from July 1.

The situation in Ukraine remains difficult. Fighting continues. Russia announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many states have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions against Russia.
