Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov named promising areas of cooperation within the framework of the Kyrgyz-German Business Council. He made this announcement at the first meeting of the Council.
According to him, cooperation in the financial sector, industry, agro-industrial complex, mutual and foreign trade, technical regulation, sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary measures, transport and infrastructure, human resources and vocational education and other issues are interesting. He also proposed to include large German banks KfW and Deutsche Bank in the German part of the Business Council.
«The program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany on training of managerial staff in the field of economy, within the framework of which more than 300 entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan have passed a month-long training course in Germany, has an important meaning for Kyrgyzstan. The importance of the program for the development of our country cannot be measured in quantitative terms, but it is invaluable. Modern business experience, new knowledge and approaches, as well as business contacts established between Kyrgyz companies and their German partners are important «intellectual» investments in the development of the national economy,» Akylbek Japarov said.
He also reminded that Germany provides significant support to the processes of democratic and economic reforms in Kyrgyzstan. The main assistance programs are: «Sustainable Economic Development» and «Healthcare». The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Development Bank (KfW) are involved in their implementation — technical projects and financial projects.
«There is significant potential for development of cooperation with Germany in trade and investment spheres, especially in the current realities. There are not yet as many companies with German capital in Kyrgyzstan as we would like. With the intensification of cooperation between Central Asian countries in recent years, we can see an increase in the interest of German investors in the region. Our country is interested in adopting the experience of German companies and localization of German production in Kyrgyzstan,» the head of the Cabinet concluded.
