Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov discussed with Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri issues of cooperation between the two countries. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
Issues of further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two states were discussed.
«I express hope that your visit will give impetus to further strengthening of relations between the two countries. In 2021, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the UAE amounted to about $70 million. Undoubtedly, it is a good dynamic, but we need to increase the figure 3-4 times,» Akylbek Japarov said.
The head of the Cabinet suggested establishing a Kyrgyz-UAE Investment Development Fund and opening a UAE laboratory center for standardization in the country.
In addition, they discussed opening of an investment center for implementation of the aforementioned initiatives.
The UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri confirmed the interest in the implementation of projects and initiatives voiced during the meeting.
«We have arrived in Kyrgyzstan with a delegation including businessmen and representatives of major companies in the fields of tourism, energy and agriculture. We are interested in cooperation in the areas of energy, mining and tourism. We express our readiness to implement proposals and initiatives put forward by you. The Arab side will assist in exporting local clean drinking water to the UAE,» Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri said.
The minister confirmed readiness to hold the second meeting of the Kyrgyz-UAE Intergovernmental Commission and the meeting of the Business Council in 2022. The parties agreed to start working on the establishment of a sovereign fund, a Kyrgyz-UAE Fund and a center for attracting investments to the UAE.
