An activist Ondorush Toktonasyrov held a one-man protest near the building of the Russian Embassy in Bishkek. He demanded to protect the rights of children in Ukraine.
According to Ondorush Toktonasyrov, he chose June 1, International Children’s Day, for holding the protest for a reason. The activist noted that babies and teenagers die from explosions of shells and bombs in Ukraine every hour.
Ondorush Toktonasyrov noted that those responsible for the death of children must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law before a tribunal in The Hague.
According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Kyiv, the number of civilian casualties on the territory of Ukraine since the beginning of hostilities reached 4,113 people. Of these, 264 are children. Nearly 5,000 people were injured, including 421 children.
The UN believes that the real figures are much higher, since many reports require additional confirmation. Information from the zone of active battles comes with a delay.
Situation in Ukraine remains difficult. The fighting continues. Russia announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of casualties among the military and civilians continues to grow. Many states have imposed and continue to impose tough sanctions against the Russian Federation.
