Omar Sultanov has been appointed a Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the UN in Geneva. The corresponding decree was signed by the President.
According to the document, Omar Sultanov will represent the interests of the Kyrgyz Republic at the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva.
Omar Sultanov is the brother of ex-speaker of Parliament and former finance minister Marat Sultanov. He is 60 years old. He is a graduate of the Mikhail Lomonosov Moscow State University, a candidate of historical sciences. In 1998-1999, he worked as the presidential chief of staff, before that he headed the diplomatic mission of the Kyrgyz Republic in Germany for four years. He was the first deputy foreign minister in 2002-2003. Then he left the civil service and went into business.
