He added that the possibility of extracting gold from the tailings, where there are 106 tons of precious metal, is being considered now.
According to Tengiz Bolturuk, 60-65 tons of gold could be extracted there. If underground gold mining begins in 2024, it would yield at least 3-4 tons.
«Together with the extraction of the precious metal from the tailings and underground mining, we will produce up to 24-25 tons of gold annually,» he said.
Tengiz Bolturuk did not specify how much gold has been produced since transfer of the mine to Kyrgyzstan, to whom it is sold and at what price.
Heritage of Great Nomads National Holding JSC with 100 percent state participation in its authorized capital was established in December 2021.
On April 4, the head of the state Sadyr Japarov announced signing of an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Canadian company Centerra Gold, resolving disagreements on the management of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC. According to the document, the Cabinet received the right of full management and ownership of the mine.
