Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the World Bank Group Human Development Director for Europe and Central Asia Region Fadia Saadah.
They discussed the main tasks of the state’s social policy, including issues of human development, possible measures and reforms necessary to support the poor and vulnerable segments of the population.
Akylbek Japarov noted that the Kyrgyz Republic remains a country with a socially oriented market economy.
«The largest increase in wages for public sector employees was carried out in April of this year, social benefits were increased. The Cabinet of Ministers sets ambitious plans in this direction, including the construction of hospitals that meet the highest requirements at the expense of budgetary funds in 20 cities of the republic,» he said.
According to him, a search is now underway for international specialists who are ready to provide technical assistance in the implementation of this project.
Work on reforming the education system, where special attention will be paid to vocational education, was noted.
Fadia Saadah stressed that the World Bank welcomes the Cabinet’s initiatives and is ready to assist in their implementation.
