The President of Kyrgyzstan instructed the Accounts Chamber to check the annual financial and other activities of Kumtor company. Sadyr Japarov wrote about it on his Facebook page.
He recalled that external management was introduced at the mine on May 17, 2021. «One year has passed. Upon completion of the inspection, a report will be presented to the people,» the head of state promised.
On April 4, the head of the state Sadyr Japarov announced signing of an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Canadian company Centerra Gold, resolving disagreements over the management of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC. According to the document, the Cabinet of Ministers received the right of full management and ownership of the mine.
