The Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev signed an order to close private medical colleges due to the lack of conditions for internship.

The list of colleges:

  • The Osh Regional Medical College;
  • The Shoktomamatov International Medical College;
  • Avicenna Bilim Medical College;
  • N. Pirogov Medical College;
  • Unicum Kyrgyz Medical and Social College;
  • Issyk-Kul Medical and Dental College;
  • Kochkor-Ata Regional College;
  • ISITO Medical College;
  • Aravan Duldul Too College;
  • Asian Medical Institute named after S. Tentishev;
  • Medical College of International University of Science and Business;
  • Medical and Pharmaceutical College.

The head of the Department of Human Resources and Organizational Work of the Ministry of Health was instructed to notify the Ministry of Education for making an appropriate decision.

«Students of these private medical colleges will be able to transfer to state colleges. They are ready to accept them. Enrollment in state colleges was incomplete in recent years — only 40-50 percent. Private institutions were opening nearby, but students did not get knowledge there, there were no clinical sites, diplomas were obtained for money. We saw unqualified nurses that were trained in these private institutions. There, by the way, tuition fees were low. We are putting things in order now,» Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told 24.kg news agency.

Earlier, the universities that teach medical specialists were inspected. Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said that he intended to close some private medical schools also due to the lack of clinical sites for internship of students.
