The XI International Astronomy Tournament for schoolchildren was held in Cholpon-Ata. The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan reported.
More than 70 schoolchildren from all regions of Kyrgyzstan, Almaty and the National Scientific, Practical, Educational and Health Center Bobek (Kazakhstan) took part in it.
«The Astronomy Tournament for schoolchildren is a team competition for students in grades 7-11 in the ability to solve research and scientific problems, present solutions and defend them in scientific discussions,» the ministry said.
The team from Almaty took the first place. The team from Issyk-Kul region and the Bobek National Scientific and Practical Educational Center won silver medal; the team from Osh and the team from the National Children’s Engineering and Technical Academy Altyn Tuyun won bronze medals.
The tournament was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science and Altyn Tuyun.
