70,524 foreign students study at universities of Kyrgyzstan

At least 70,524 foreign students study at the universities of Kyrgyzstan. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said at the World Forum of Rectors.

According to him, 30.5 percent of students studying in higher educational institutions of the country are foreigners. At least 44,732 students of them are young people from neighboring countries (CIS, Georgia, the Baltic States). About 25,792 students from far abroad countries (India, Pakistan, China) study in Kyrgyzstan.

«The largest number of students come from India, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. Most of them are enrolled in medical education programs. On average, 4.7 billion soms are transferred to higher education institutions by students from these three countries annually,» Akylbek Japarov said.
