Interior Ministry reminds of responsibility for spreading provocative messages

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reminded about the responsibility for dissemination of provocative messages. Press service of the ministry reported.

According to it, cases of appearance of various false and unreliable provocative messages increased recently on social media.

«When it comes to conflict issues with other states, do not allow yourself to spread various video and photo materials that distort information and insult the citizens of other countries. This is not in line with moral and ethical standards. Thus, you aggravate the situation and provoke a quarrel between the two peoples,» the Interior Ministry said.

It is noted that the Ministry of Interior and its subdivisions are working to identify the distributors of such materials. The ministry urges citizens to refrain from spreading any provocative deliberately false messages on social media and report such facts to the Interior Ministry.

«Ignorance of the law does not exempt citizens from criminal liability,» the ministry noted, adding that all those involved in sending false provocative messages will be identified and punished under Article 330 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan «Inciting racial, ethnic, national, religious inter-regional hatred (discord)».

Earlier, in connection with the conflict at the border, the President Sadyr Japarov urged not to insult the leaders of neighboring countries.

Another shootout occurred yesterday night on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The border guards of the Republic of Tajikistan opened fire on the servicemen of the Kyrgyz Republic at about 9.17 p.m. during a meeting of border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, who arrived at the scene of the incident as a reinforcement. After midnight, the parties agreed to withdraw additional forces to the points of their permanent deployment.
