Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agree on several more border sections

The next round of negotiations on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border ended on Friday. Following its results, the heads of government delegations Kamchybek Tashiev and Saimumin Yatimov made a statement for Region TV channel.

Thus, the head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan noted that the parties had agreed on some sections of the state border.

«In particular, on the border from Maksat village to the territory of the «meetings.» It is about 15 kilometers. Now our commissions have to describe the agreed boundaries. We are satisfied with the result of our negotiations,» Kamchybek Tashiev said.

The head of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan confirmed the words of his colleague. He stated that important points were discussed.

«These are Kulundu, Maksat, Arka, Khystervaz directions. Fundamental agreement has been reached on them. We have prepared a protocol. All parties fully agree. We will take a significant step forward. We confidently fulfill the instructions of our heads of state and the will of our peoples to complete the border delimitation process,» Saimumin Yatimov said.
