Sadyr Japarov received the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Chen Shixin. Press service of the head of state of Kyrgyzstan reported.
During the meeting, they discussed the priorities of project and program cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and ADB.
The President expressed satisfaction with dynamically developing cooperation with ADB in the areas of green economy, energy and transport, agriculture and water management, environmental protection and climate change, which will help the country to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Sadyr Japarov stressed interest in implementation of projects in education and healthcare, as well as projects to attract investors to joint projects based on the principles of public-private partnership. In addition, in order to implement anti-crisis measures in the most vulnerable sectors of the national economy, he instructed the Ministry of Finance to study the issue of attracting additional aid from the ADB stabilization fund.
Chen Shixin said that Kyrgyzstan is an important partner for ADB, and confirmed his intention to support implementation of the medium-term national development program of the republic. He also welcomed efforts to carry out meaningful social and economic reforms to ensure accelerated recovery from COVID-19, improve the well-being of citizens and develop a green economy as a measure to curb climate change.
