A meeting of Air Defense Coordination Committee under the Council of CIS Defense Ministers will be held in Shymkent on April 12. Media of Kazakhstan report.
According to them, delegations of Defense Ministries of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and the Secretariat of the CIS Defense Ministers Council, representatives of the defense industry and organizations in the field of air defense research and training of military personnel will participate in the work of the committee.
«Issues of improving the unified air defense system and strengthening multilateral military cooperation will be considered,» the statement says.
They will sum up the work of the Coordination Committee and its bodies for 2021, determine tasks for the coming period, and consider holding of joint activities for operational and combat training of troops assigned to the joint CIS air defense system in 2022. A joint computer-based command staff exercise of the united CIS air defense system Regional Security 2022 will be held in Shymkent on April 12-14.
«The maneuvers will be held in two stages, during which the issues of training and use of air defense troops in the Central Asian region and Kazakhstan will be worked out. The training and combat tasks to counteract the conventional enemy in the air will be carried out by air defense specialists at automated workstations connected to a common local information network,» the Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan explained.
