At least 66 convicted citizens of Kyrgyzstan were extradited from abroad to serve their sentences in their homeland in 2021. The Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Kurmankul Zulushev announced at a joint meeting of the parliamentary committees on constitutional legislation, state structure, judicial, legal issues, law and order, combating crime and combating corruption.
«Last year we handed over 11 wanted foreign citizens. Some 77 citizens, who were wanted in our country, were handed over to us from Russia and Kazakhstan. In addition, 66 convicted citizens have been extradited. At least 54 of them were convicted in the Russian Federation, and 12 — in the Republic of Kazakhstan,» he said.
The deputies listened to the report of the Prosecutor General’s Office on the state of the rule of law in 2021 and on the work done by the prosecution authorities to step up it.
