According to him, at present, the poverty level in the country is 25.3 percent, which is more than 1.6 million Kyrgyzstanis. «This line is measured by 1,648 soms per person. More than 59,000 people, or 0.9 percent of the total population, live below the extreme poverty line,» Kudaibergen Bazarbaev said.

He said that the state provides significant social support to people in a difficult life situation through the payment of various social benefits and compensations, including «ui bulogo komok» allowance.

«This is an allowance for children who live in families in a temporary difficult life situation, whose income per family member is not more than 1,000 soms per month. The allowance is not paid for life, but for a year. We hope that the family will overcome difficulties within a year. Therefore, the number of recipients is constantly changing. To date, the allowance is paid to 110,000 families with 364,000 children,» the minister added.
