Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov and a Regional Manager of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Muneer Ferozie discussed the importance of development of projects in public-private partnership format. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The sides noted necessity of implementation of projects in telecommunication sphere and projects on the development of renewable energy sources in PPP format.
An important topic of the discussion was the forthcoming modernization of Manas International Airport.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Cabinet suggested accelerating preparation of proposals for modernization of Manas, using positive experience of introduction of renewable energy sources on the example of successful projects in neighboring countries, as well as launching three pilot projects to develop this direction.
In October 2021, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the International Finance Corporation signed an agreement on provision of financial advisory services within Modernization and Development of Manas Airport PPP project. The company will also assist in attracting a qualified international investor/operator on the basis of a transparent tender on economically favorable conditions.
