Deputies discussed the issue of supply of medicines to the country today at the meeting of the Committee on Social Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
Nurdin Kagazdiev, Director of the Department of Medicines and Medical Products, said that 5 percent of the total volume of drugs imported into Kyrgyzstan comes from Ukraine and 16 percent — from Russia.
«We have conducted monitoring. There is no shortage of medicines. There are medicines for 2-3 months in the warehouses of pharmaceutical companies. It is possible that the prices of drugs will grow, as the dollar exchange rate is growing. We want to suspend the price regulation for five months. If it is not profitable for companies to bring medicines, they will not do it,» he said.
Nurdin Kagazdiev added that there are no state pharmacies in Kyrgyzstan.
MP Dinara Ashimova noted that the issue of opening state pharmacies was raised back in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. There should be at least one state pharmacy in each region, she said.
MP Dastan Bekeshev pointed out that drug prices have already risen, in particular, for insulin.
