A number of proposals has been made to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan to support business during the crisis. The head of the Union of Banks Anvar Abdraev said today at a meeting with the Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev.
According to him, one proposal has already been accepted. It is the ability of banks to use each other’s correspondent accounts. This means that if a bank has problems with correspondent accounts in the Russian Federation, then it can immediately interact with correspondent accounts of other banks in Russia or other countries.
«There are about 10 more proposals that we have already discussed. In the near future, they will be adopted primarily to facilitate the work of business. Among other things, documents of the National Bank will be adopted in order to effectively convert foreign currency loans into soms,» Anvar Abdraev said.
He also noted that commercial banks have an agreement with the National Bank on the only one source of information.
«The position on the exchange rate, monetary policy is voiced by the National Bank today. We decided not to say anything, because there are a lot of opinions now. There are a lot of armchair experts who begin to fantasize. The situation is difficult; we should not panic. We must give the population an opportunity to analyze for themselves,» the head of the Union of Banks concluded.
