The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) appealed to the management of the central banks of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan asking to suspend any transactions with payment cards of Mir payment system in these countries. Website of the bank says.
In particular, the NBU called on the management of central banks to stop servicing Mir bank cards in their networks of ATMs and POS terminals, as well as to make use of these cards in e-commerce and P2P transfers impossible.
»The NBU seeks to mobilize all possible sanctions against the Russian financial sector. Financing of armed aggression against Ukraine must be stopped. That is why we very much hope that our international partners will support our initiatives in this direction,” the head of the NBU Kyrylo Shevchenko said.
