The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan entered the foreign exchange market with an intervention to sell dollars. Press service of the National Bank confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
Such a decision was made to meet the demand for the currency and in connection with the sharp appreciation of the dollar. The amount of the intervention will be announced in the evening.
Over the past 24 hours, the U.S. dollar has appreciated by 8.5 soms in Kyrgyzstan — from 98.5 to 107 soms.
