The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Kyrgyzstan Valery Zhovtenko has not left for Kiev yet. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed 24.kg news agency.
It was reported earlier that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky recalled country’s ambassador Valery Zhovtenko from Kyrgyzstan for consultations. He said this during a televised address to the nation, stressing that the ambassador was recalled «for justifying aggression against Ukraine».
However, the Foreign Ministry noted that the Ambassador Valery Zhovtenko was working as usual and had not gone anywhere. The Foreign Ministry has not yet received a note verbale on the matter.
The Ukrainian embassy in Kyrgyzstan confirmed to 24.kg news agency that Valery Zhovtenko was at his workplace. The diplomatic mission promised to clarify other details later.
The hostilities in Ukraine are ongoing. Russia started a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many countries have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions against Russia.
