Interruptions in the supply of medicines are expected in Kyrgyzstan. It was announced at a meeting of the Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev with representatives of the Department of Medicines and Medical Products and the Pharmaceutical Union of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As the press center of the department noted, representatives of pharmaceutical companies expressed their concern about the current crisis situation in the world, in particular in Russia and Ukraine.
The head of the Pharmaceutical Union Ernis Asanov noted that the country imports medicines and medical products from more than 30 countries of the world.
The share of deliveries from Russia and Ukraine is about 60 percent of all imports. Due to the current situation between the two countries, all orders placed in Ukraine have been canceled, and the possibility of resumption of supplies remains unknown.
Taking into account the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation, Russian manufacturers have suspended shipment of goods for an indefinite period due to the instability of the ruble exchange rate.
Participants of the meeting also expressed concerns that due to sanctions, many European manufacturers may stop supplying medicines and medical devices to the Russian Federation. This will inevitably lead to the cessation of exports by Russian producers and their reorientation to meet the needs of their domestic market.
«Given these facts, representatives of the pharmaceutical business proposed to suspend the pilot project on price regulation until the global pharmaceutical market stabilizes with subsequent revision based on real prices, as well as to allow the import of socially significant drugs and medical devices with different labeling, to suspend the requirements for the mandatory import of packaging of medicinal products in accordance with national requirements. Pharmaceutical companies noted that these measures will allow relatively uninterrupted provision of the population and healthcare organizations of the republic with the necessary medicines and medical products,» the press center noted.
The Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev stressed that the availability of necessary medicines and medical products, their uninterrupted delivery is extremely important for the country. «I understand the importance of the current situation, and the Ministry of Health is ready to study this issue and do everything possible to make the most correct decision, since the health of the population, providing it with high-quality and necessary medicines is one of the priorities in the work of the department,» he said.
Following the meeting, the minister instructed the relevant specialists to create a working group, work out this issue as soon as possible and make proposals.
