Economy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev met at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce with representatives of business associations, oil traders, suppliers of Dordoi market, other large retail chains and government bodies to discuss the current situation in the market of socially significant goods.
During the meeting, representatives of the business community noted that there are enough food products, including flour, sugar, vegetable oil, necessary to meet the needs of the domestic market.
As the minister noted, the growth in demand for foreign currency and the volatility of the exchange rate were caused by increased geopolitical tension in the world and reaction of financial markets to it.
The National Bank of the country, in turn, is pursuing a policy of smoothing sharp fluctuations in the exchange rate and has a set of necessary tools for this.
At present, there is no shortage of foreign currency.
There are no delays in transit deliveries of goods imported from other states through the territory of Kazakhstan.
In order to prevent a speculative rise in prices for essential goods, Daniyar Amangeldiev noted the need for business to comply with a socially oriented pricing policy.
The Antimonopoly Regulation Service was instructed to monitor the market situation daily. In case of a steady increase in world prices for socially important food products, the Cabinet of Ministers will promptly make decisions aimed at containing the prices of domestic consumption goods, fuels and lubricants.
