«In the context of increased public attention to the results of the activities of the EAEU, it is necessary to assess the effectiveness of the Union, and, in particular, its impact on the economies of its members,» the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in an expanded format.
According to him, the results of such an assessment should not be measured by the number of adopted documents, but by specific, direct and quantifiable indicators. He noted that the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) assesses how the decisions of the EAEU influence business.
«But for the most part, it doesn’t include quantitative estimation of the impact of decisions on the business environment. Therefore, I suggest the EEC to develop indicators for quantitative and qualitative assessment of the impact of decisions made on business development. This will ensure not only a balanced approach to new initiatives, but also bring concrete results of work to the public,» Alikhan Smailov emphasized.
