The first Eurasian Economic Forum is planned to be held in Bishkek from May 26 to May 27, 2022. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in a narrow format.
According to him, the event will be held within the framework of the next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council with participation of top officials of the member states. He also recalled that the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, in his address to the heads of the EAEU, had already outlined priority areas and initiatives for 2022 — year of chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the bodies of the Union.
«First of all, this is the achievement of the goals laid down in the strategic directions for the development of economic integration until 2025, development and implementation of effective measures and mechanisms for the prompt removal of barriers, strengthening of industrial cooperation, solution of problems of ensuring food security in the member states of the integration association, development of coordinated measures of response to the climate change challenges. I call for closer cooperation in addressing these issues, which require careful study and implementation, both on the part of the member states and the Eurasian Economic Commission,» Akylbek Japarov said.
The meeting was further held in a closed format. The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held in an expanded format tomorrow.
The Eurasian Economic Union includes five countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
