President Sadyr Japarov addressed the farmers of Kyrgyzstan. On his Facebook page, the head of state told about lending to agriculture and called on agricultural producers to think how they would repay their debts.
«Issuance of preferential loans to farmers at 6 percent for three years has begun recently. We provide these loans through the state-owned banks Aiyl Bank, RSK and Keremet. In general, 26 billion soms were allocated to the agricultural sector. Of this amount, 1.5 billion was allocated for the purchase of seeds, 1 billion — for irrigation, and the rest of the funds — for providing loans to farmers for a period of three years,» President Japarov wrote.
The president noted that 16,000 tons of seeds have been purchased. Regardless of whether farmers have debts or not, they will be provided on credit at a rate of 4.5 percent for a period of two years.
«It should be noted that earlier there were cases of misuse of agricultural loans,» the president said.
No one can deny that we used to take loans for weddings, home renovations, and car purchases. Instead, shift your mindset to the good things in life, like development of your farm. There is a saying: "The beauty of a debt is its payment."

«Remember that you have to repay the loan. We need to create conditions for one part of the farmers to receive preferential loans this year, and another part — in subsequent years.
There were proposals to use this money to build factories. However, it will take 3-4 years for the plant to start working. So we decided to give last year’s net income to the farmers. You must contribute to the country’s food security this year with a good harvest. First of all, the country should have its own food supplies,» Sadyr Japarov concluded.
