Vice Mayor of Bishkek Azat Uzakov was taken to the remand prison of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). Own sources informed 24.kg news agency.
The decision was made by the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek. Azat Uzakov is to be kept in the SCNS remand prison until April 18.
The court confirmed this information.
Azat Uzakov was detained on February 18. The investigation showed that while working as the head of the Department of Construction, Transport and Communications of the Government’s Office, he had organized a corrupt scheme to lobby the interests of a company. Azat Uzakov colluded with employees of the State Construction Committee and the Chui Department of Capital Construction and repeatedly promoted the interests of G.P.S. LLC in funding construction of a secondary school in Kosh-Korgon village, Chui region. The requirements of the tender legislation, construction norms and regulations were violated, as a result of which a fictitious commissioning of the facility was carried out. In fact, construction of the school has not been completed: its basement was not commissioned, the canteen, the sports hall and the façade of the building are not fully made; the territory was landscaped, there is no fire safety system, and the electrical fitting works were not completed.
