The number of unemployed registered by the employment services of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as of the end of December 2021 was 1 million people, which is three times lower (by 67 percent) compared to the same date in 2020. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) provided such data.
The number of unemployed makes up 1.1 percent of the labor force. The figure was 3.3 percent in 2020.
At least 76,000 people were registered as unemployed in Kyrgyzstan at the end of the year. They make up 2.9 percent of the total labor force. This is the highest figure among all EAEU countries. In 2020, the number of unemployed was 700 people more.
