Kyrgyzstan plans to install solar panels for poor families

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the Director of the World Bank Resident Office in Kyrgyzstan Naveed Hassan Naqvi. Press service of the Cabinet reported.

During the meeting, topical issues of cooperation and interaction were discussed. The head of the Cabinet told about the steps taken to support and strengthen the energy sector, initiatives to develop projects in the field of renewable energy sources. Akylbek Japarov noted the priority of reforms in healthcare and education.

«The World Bank is a strategic partner that provides significant support to our country in all key areas of development. We are focused on effective interaction in areas of mutual interest,» Akylbek Japarov said.

In turn, Naveed Hassan Naqvi expressed readiness for further fruitful cooperation. During the meeting, issues of implementation of Digital CASA — Kyrgyz Republic project, organizing and holding a spring forum on the prospects for development of the energy sector, upcoming spring meetings of the World Bank, and vaccination of the population were discussed. The parties also touched upon the topics of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the partnership between Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank, as well as cooperation within the framework of a project on installation of solar panels in the homes of families belonging to the category of socially vulnerable population.
