Reconstruction of Bishkek - Kara-Balta road to be completed by end of 2022

During his working trip to Chui region, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov inspected the progress of reconstruction of Bishkek — Kara-Balta road. Press service of the head of state reported.

According to the Minister of Transport and Communications Erkinbek Osoev, reconstruction of the remaining 7.4 kilometers of road out of 52.5 continues. The main carriageway in settlements will have six lanes with a width of 3.5 meters.

The President was also presented with a project for reconstruction of the northern bypass road in Bishkek. The highway will be expanded, interchanges, sidewalks and overground pedestrian crossing will be built on it.

The total length of the bypass road is 34 kilometers. Its main part will have four lanes with a divider in the middle. It is planned to attract investors for the reconstruction of the northern bypass road in Bishkek.

Sadyr Japarov familiarized himself with the project on construction of the bypass road along Profsoyuznaya Street. Implementation of the project is planned to start in 2022 at the expense of the republican budget.

The road with the length of 8.5 kilometers will become an alternative to Bishkek — Kara-Balta road, which will ease its traffic.

The head of the state stressed that implementation of the projects will reduce the traffic load and will increase the convenience for citizens when entering and exiting the capital of the country. He noted the importance of quality construction and reconstruction of roads in accordance with modern international standards.

Sadyr Japarov instructed the Ministry of Transport and Communications to complete reconstruction of Bishkek — Kara-Balta road by the end of the year and to monitor the quality of work.

He also instructed to accelerate the work on construction of the northern bypass road in Bishkek and the bypass road along Profsoyuznaya Street to ensure continuous, safe and comfortable traffic.
