The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov, during a working trip to Batken region, got acquainted with reconstruction of Osh — Batken — Isfana road at the section from the 28th to the 75th kilometer. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Taabaldy Tillaev noted that the section of Osh — Nookat -Batken road is not only of international importance, but is also an important transport corridor for development of the region.
The donor for the construction of this facility is the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Its cost is $133.58 million, including $50 million for the construction of the road from the 28th to the 75th kilometer.
The second component of the project is prevention of natural disasters on Bishkek — Osh road: construction of a protective structure against rockfalls, supporting walls from landslides, construction of tunnels and bridges.
«Tender documentation is being prepared. The project will be implemented in accordance with international standards,» Taabaldy Tillaev said.
The head of the Cabinet noted that the tender should be announced as soon as possible, and domestic companies should also be involved in the implementation of the project. «Our local firms must gain experience, learn modern technologies and their application in order to compete with foreign companies in the future,» he added.
