An employee of the Service for the Execution of Punishments was detained for extortion of a bribe. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.
The senior investigator of the prison colony 47 was detained the day before while taking a bribe. It was established that he, using his official position, threatened and extorted money from a convict serving a sentence in the prison colony. It is noted that the detainee threatened the convict with transfer to another correctional facility, where he could be killed by his cellmates.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 343 «Extortion of a bribe» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect was placed in the pretrial detention center of SCNS.
