«We wanted to start it from February 15, but the incident in Sokuluk became an impetus,» Askat Azarbekov told.
On February 3, a child was admitted to the Sokuluk Territorial Hospital with hematomas. A criminal case was initiated on the fact of torture. The police detained a 34-year-old man and placed him in the detention center for investigation period.
The boy is 20 months old. Earlier, human rights activists asked the Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev to transfer the boy to Bishkek for treatment. The head of the ministry said that the child would be hospitalized in one of the city hospitals.
The Ombudsman’s Office reported that the suspect constantly beat the boy and his father and repeatedly shot at the legs of the latter with an air rifle. The reason for the abuse on the part of the employer was a debt.
