Akylbek Japarov promises big changes in Bishkek

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov took part in the board meeting of the Bishkek City Hall. Press service of the Cabinet reported.

According to it, the mayor of the capital, Aibek Dzhunushaliev, told about the results of the social and economic development of the capital last year and upcoming plans for the current one.

In turn, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that many mistakes had been made in recent years.

Green spaces have been destroyed, the irrigation system has been ruined, the city has been deformed by chaotic and disorderly construction. But big changes await our capital. The city of Bishkek is 70 percent of the country’s economy. It is the center of culture, science and education. It is the think-tank of the country, the center of power.

Akylbek Japarov

«I ask everyone sitting here to realize these things. It is Bishkek that should become the locomotive of everything progressive and new. To keep up with the times and in accordance with the most advanced achievements of mankind. It depends on your intellect, mood, will and energy. I think that these are you, the city officials, who can really change the minds of the citizens not only of Bishkek, but of the entire republic. By your example, your work, your ideas, start changing the country for the better,» he said.

Akylbek Japarov touched upon the issues of active participation of civil society in the life of the capital.

«I cannot but say about the residents of our capital. Or rather, about its most active representatives. People with a high coefficient of social responsibility. I believe their role in the life and development of our city is invaluable,» he said.

The first fair elections without outright bribery, without the interference of the administrative resource showed that the townspeople will very soon elect only the worthiest representatives of the people to the posts of deputies. There has never been such a thing as the failure of elections in two districts in the history of Bishkek.

Akylbek Japarov

«It speaks of the increased self-awareness and responsibility of people. We must keep this in mind in our daily activities. People see everything. The task of officials at all levels is to listen, to study the opinion and mood of the citizens, to work closely with them,» the head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted.
