Sellers from Tokmak hold rally at Government House in Bishkek

Sellers from the market in Tokmak city hold a rally near the Government House in Bishkek.

The protesters demand to cancel the mandatory use of cash registers.

According to Lola Khamrayeva, the Tokmak market is closed today, as all the sellers came in participate in the rally.

«We demand to cancel cash registers. It is unrealistic to introduce them in Kyrgyzstan, there is no such a thing in Tashkent. Why should we give 10 percent of our earnings to the state? We have loans, we pay 5,000-6,000 soms for electricity per month, we rent premises for 15,000-20,000 soms, we also pay land tax. It’s a huge amount per month. If we use the cash registers, will we only work for the state,» she said.

This is not the first rally against the mandatory installation of cash registers. Earlier, sellers of Dordoi Dyikan market, as well as other entrepreneurs, held protests.
