Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan condemns drone attacks in Abu Dhabi

The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kyrgyzstan condemns attacks with the use of drones on civilian and industrial facilities in Abu Dhabi, which caused civilian casualties. The Information Department of the ministry reports.

The ministry considers these actions as a terrorist attack aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region and strongly condemns terrorism in all its manifestations, supporting the efforts of the international community to counter this threat.

The Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan expresses its support to the government and people of the United Arab Emirates and offers its condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.

On January 17, unidentified people committed a drone attack in the UAE. As a result, three people were killed and six were wounded. Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attack, but did not give any details.

The world community condemns the attacks in Abu Dhabi. Authorities of the UAE and other countries, particularly the U.S., France and the UK, as well as the UN, have condemned the attacks on the city. The U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Washington would work with the UAE and other allies to «hold the Houthis accountable.» The Foreign Minister of France Jean-Yves Le Drian called the attack a threat to «the security of the United Arab Emirates and regional stability.»

The UN Secretary-General António Guterres, also condemning the Abu Dhabi attack, called on all parties to the conflict to exercise maximum restraint.
