Foreign nationals could not only be fined for illegal work, but also expelled from Russia from January 1. Russian media reported, citing the Interior Ministry.
It is noted that more than 7 million foreigners have received permits, 1.5 million of them have registered their stay in Russia since March 2020.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs urged foreigners, who have no work permits, to immediately contact the Interior Ministry before December 31. In addition, employers need to formalize the employment relationship with foreign employees, and to notify about it within three days.
The amount of penalty for illegal workers is up to 5,000 rubles. In this case, starting next year, they may be subject to measures related to expulsion from Russia and the ban on re-entry, authorities warned.
«Employers may be fined up to 800,000 rubles for the illegal employment of foreign nationals for each such employee,» the Russian Interior Ministry said.
Earlier, it was reported that from December 29, 2021, Kyrgyzstanis traveling to Russia to work must undergo a medical examination, as well as the procedure of state fingerprint registration and photographing.
