It is planned to open a plant for production of drip irrigation equipment in Kyrgyzstan in 2022. The Minister of Agriculture Askarbek Dzhanybekov told at a press conference in Bishkek.
«The demand for drip irrigation is increasing. We are working to attract investors to produce the necessary equipment. The plant will probably work in the framework of public-private partnership. «Aiyl Bank also provides leasing to farmers to repair wells and purchase equipment,» the minister said.
He noted that only 2.500 hectares of farmland are covered by drip irrigation to date.
It is worth reminding that due to the low water period and drought, agricultural producers have faced serious problems this year. According to officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, a significant reduction in yields of all types of crops was registered.
