President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mikhail Myasnikovich. Press service of the head of state reported.
The parties exchanged views on current topical issues of joint activities within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, issues of deepening and expanding integration in the Eurasian space, including in the light of the upcoming chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the EAEU.
«Today we are facing an important task — to return to pre-pandemic growth rates and ensure further intensive development of economic indicators. The consequences of the pandemic are a drop in income, unemployment, and increasing gap between the economies of the member states of the union. We need to make full use of the existing integration potential of the EAEU and the competitive advantages of each member state for the sustainable development of our integration in order to strengthen the economies of the member states and ensure their harmonious development and convergence,» Sadyr Japarov stressed.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan was ready to consider and analyze all the proposals of the EEC in the framework of the upcoming chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the EAEU in 2022. The President focused on the fact that it is important to devote the next year to strengthening investment cooperation, development of transport corridors, expansion of trade and economic ties with entry into new promising markets. In addition, it is necessary to pay special attention to the climate agenda, the introduction of green technologies, implementation of projects in the field of e-commerce, and to begin the development of joint high-tech projects that will become symbols of the EAEU.
In turn, Mikhail Myasnikovich provided information on the priority tasks of the EEC. He expressed hope that the coming year under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the bodies of the EAEU would be successful not only for the union, but would also play an important role in the development of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The EEC Chairman drew attention to the positive dynamics of economic indicators of the country’s development traced over 11 months of this year, noting also good indicators of mutual trade between the EAEU states, including Kyrgyzstan — 32.7 percent.
The parties agreed to continue developing cooperation within the framework of Eurasian integration.
