Healthcare, housing, corruption: What problems migrants face in Russia

Migrants from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan experience difficulties in accessing healthcare services in Russia. The President of the Federation of Migrants of Russia Vadim Kozhenov told at a briefing.

According to him, 35 percent out of 4,739 polled migrants voiced this problem. Other difficulties are housing issues and corruption in various state bodies.

Most of the respondents do not feel negative and harassing attitude from the host community (citizens of Russia). At least 55.9 percent do not see any problems in relations with the local population. Slightly less than a third of the respondents noted that when they visit government agencies, they feel a negative attitude towards themselves.

Earlier it was reported that an average salary of migrants in Russia is 47,100 rubles per month.
