Kamchybek Tashiev's nephew heads Kyrgyz Petroleum Company

The 31-year-old nephew of the head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchybek Tashiev, became the head of a large oil refinery in Jalal-Abad. Results of an investigation conducted by Temirov LIVE say.

It is noted that there are several competing factories next to the petroleum storage depot located in Jalal-Abad, owned by the Tashiev family. The state-owned enterprise Kyrgyz Petroleum Company is among them. Since 2012, its sole shareholder is Kyrgyzneftegaz state-owned enterprise.

Kyrgyz Petroleum Company was headed by Nurlan Maksutov before the October 2020 events. In the last parliamentary elections, he ran for Parliament from Mekenim Kyrgyzstan party. After the change of power, Baigazy Matisakov became the director of the enterprise.

Journalists found out that Baigazy Matisakov is Kamchybek Tashiev’s nephew. According to the Ministry of Justice, he is registered as a director of two companies — Bai Company and Bai-Tash Company.

The first is engaged in the extraction of crude oil.

It should be noted that the son of Kamchybek Tashiyev, Taimuras, was elected a deputy of the Jalal-Abad City Council, but he gave up his mandate later.

«Appointment of relatives to profitable and honorary positions is recognized by the UN Convention as one of the types of corruption,» Temirov LIVE reminds.
