Representative of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan to the CSTO Berdibek Asanov was relieved of his post. Own sources told 24.kg news agency.
Asanov was send to Moscow in May 2021. He worked as a Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff for five months.
«According to preliminary data, Berdibek Asanov should have been appointed a representative of the ministry to the CSTO in agreement with the Security Council. The Security Council did not give such approval. In this regard, according to some information, Asanov was recalled from Moscow to Bishkek. Disagreeing with the decision of the leadership, the colonel of the Ministry of Defense filed a lawsuit against the department,» the sources said.
Berdibek Asanov was the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Republic. Prior to that, he served as a Commander of the 8th Guards Division. Asanov was removed from his post in 2019 for negative reasons — for weak control of the entrusted military units of the Ground Forces.
