Former head of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan Adamkul Zhunusov partially repaid damage to the state. His lawyer Bakyt Osmonaliev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, Adamkul Zhunusov is under house arrest and is undergoing treatment.
«My client, together with Aikhan LLC, repaid the damage of 30 million soms out of 61 million to the state. The court released him from custody for health reasons. Adamkul Zhunusov had a stroke. First, he was treated in the medical unit of the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security, and then he was transferred to a civilian hospital. Doctors recommended treating him in more acceptable conditions,» Bakyt Osmonaliev said.
The lawyer added that the accounting and economic examination showed that the damage to the state amounted not to 161 million soms, as the investigation claimed, but to 61 million soms.
In December 2018, Adamkul Zhunusov was detained at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku (Azerbaijan) and extradited to Kyrgyzstan.
