Consideration of the case on modernization of the capital’s HPP continues in the Sverdlovsky District Court of Bishkek. The trial is chaired by a judge Inara Gilyazetdinova. Hearing of arguments took place today. The former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov started speaking.
According to him, no one has canceled the act of acceptance of HPP into operation. It clearly states that the HPP transferred by the Chinese side fully complies with the parameters set by the agreement.
«Why is there no mention in the indictment that Sooronbai Jeenbekov was the Prime Minister at the time, and the Government Office instructed to approve the acceptance act? Why is this not mentioned anywhere? How can this be?» said Sapar Isakov.
The task of law enforcement agencies, the Anti-Corruption Service of the State Committee for National Security, investigators was not to mention Sooronbai Jeenbekov, because it would cast a shadow on him.
Sapar Isakov
«You have to be fair. I do not say that he (Sooronbai Jeenbekov. — Note of 24.kg news agency) did something bad. Everyone worked for the interests of the country, in order to commission the HPP, so that Kyrgyzstan can obtain power independence, in order not to introduce blackouts. I do not blame anyone, because each of us actively participated in the project, worked for the benefit the country. But in the end, we ended up behind the bars,» the former Prime Minister stressed.
The former prime ministers Sapar Isakov and Zhantoro Satybaldiev, deputy of the Parliament Osmonbek Artykbaev, top managers of the energy sector Salaydin Avazov and Aibek Kaliev are kept in the pretrial detention center of the State Committee for National Security. The ex-finance minister Olga Lavrova is under house arrest. All of them are charged with abuse of office and corruption. The state prosecution asks for Sapar Isakov 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
