All court sentences against former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov were overturned. The press service of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
On April 29, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic granted the petition of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the lawyer to resume proceedings in the criminal case against Sapar Isakov due to newly discovered circumstances.
Thus, the sentences of the Sverdlovsky District Court of December 6, 2019, the Bishkek City Court of March 23, 2020, the Supreme Court rulings of June 22, 2020 and March 2, 2021 against former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov were overturned. The criminal case was sent for a new trial to the Sverdlovsky District Court in a different composition.
Sapar Isakov was convicted of corruption in the History Museum and the modernization of the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant. In one criminal case, the former head of the Cabinet was sentenced to 18 years in prison, in another — to 15.
Sapar Isakov was released from prison on the night of October 6, 2020. He left Kyrgyzstan. At the end of October of the same year, he was put on the wanted list.
